Overview

Introducing the Infinity Eight Dark Green Midori-Tamenuri, a sculptural fountain pen that unites architectural precision with traditional Japanese Urushi artistry. Designed and engineered in my Belgian workshop, Infinity Eight is defined by bold faceted geometry and structural clarity.

For this edition, the pen is finished in Japan using the traditional Midori-Tamenuri Urushi technique. The result is a deep, dark green surface with remarkable visual depth. The facets are as dark as black and gradually the green tone appears on the edges. Over time and with exposure to light, Urushi gradually becomes slightly lighter and more translucent—an extremely slow evolution that enhances the organic character of the finish.

Infinity Eight Dark Green Midori-Tamenuri is not simply a writing instrument; it is a living surface shaped by time, craftsmanship, and structure.

Key Features

Material:

The pen body is precision-crafted in Belgium from premium Japanese Ebonite and high-grade resins, chosen for their stability, durability, and structural integrity.

It is then sent to Japan for the traditional Urushi application. Midori-Tamenuri is a layered lacquer technique in which translucent green Urushi is applied over a darker base. The deep green tone appears almost forest-dark at first glance, yet light reveals layered depth and subtle warmth beneath the surface.

As the lacquer matures and interacts with light over the years, it slowly becomes slightly lighter and more transparent, increasing visual complexity and dimensionality.

Each Urushi layer is applied by hand, cured in controlled humidity, and carefully polished to achieve a refined, organic glow. No two pens will ever age in exactly the same way.

Nib:

Equipped with a high-quality Jowo No.6 steel nib, manufactured in Germany for a smooth, reliable, and expressive writing experience. The nib is engraved with the Wet&Wise logo and is available in multiple sizes to match your writing style.

Design:

The Infinity Eight is characterized by its distinctive octagonal architecture. Along the length of the pen, the eight-sided geometry incorporates a subtle rotational twist.

Visually, this controlled torsion creates movement across the body. Each facet reflects light at slightly different angles, enhancing the dramatic depth of the dark green Midori-Tamenuri lacquer. The interaction between flat planes and gentle rotation prevents the pen from feeling static and gives it a sculptural presence.

Functionally, the faceted and subtly twisted structure improves grip orientation and provides natural tactile feedback. The geometry also prevents the pen from rolling on flat surfaces while maintaining refined, comfortable edges.

With a cap diameter of 17 mm and a barrel diameter of 15 mm, the proportions deliver confidence and balance without sacrificing ergonomics.

Filling System:

Standard International Cartridge and Converter system for convenient ink refills.

Craftsmanship

Every Infinity Eight begins in my Belgian workshop, where I design, engineer, and craft the pen body with precise attention to geometry and balance.

The pen is then sent to Japan for the traditional Urushi finishing process. Multiple lacquer layers, slow curing, and hand polishing demand patience and mastery. This collaboration results in a pen that merges contemporary architectural design with centuries-old Japanese lacquer techniques.

Writing Experience

Despite its bold architectural character, Infinity Eight offers a stable and balanced feel in hand. The ergonomic section ensures comfort during extended writing sessions, while the subtly twisted octagonal body provides natural orientation and secure tactile feedback.

Its substantial yet controlled proportions make it suitable for journaling, sketching, or signing important documents—combining presence with long-term comfort.
